1. What PM Lab Does
PM Lab is an AI-supported perimenopause symptom tracking service. You can use it to record or type information about symptoms, patterns, and health experiences. PM Lab may turn your voice recordings into text, organize your symptom information, and generate summaries or insights.
PM Lab is for personal tracking and general information only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a replacement for a licensed healthcare professional.
Do not use PM Lab for emergencies. If you may be having a medical emergency, call local emergency services or seek urgent medical care.
2. Who Can Use PM Lab
You must be at least 21 years old to use PM Lab.
PM Lab is not intended for anyone under 21. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 21, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible.

Where cookie consent is required, we will ask for it. You can usually control cookies through your browser settings, but some service features may not work without essential cookies.
4. Why We Use Your Information

5. Internal Research and Product Improvement
We do not sell your personal information, health information, recordings, transcripts, or symptom data to third parties or to anyone.
We may use information from PM Lab for internal research and product improvement. This helps us improve the product, identify common user needs, improve symptom categories, test product quality, improve AI prompts and outputs, and make PM Lab more useful.
When possible, we use de-identified, aggregated, or pseudonymized information for internal research. This means we try to remove or reduce details that directly identify you.
Internal research does not mean we can publish your personal story, sell your data, give your health information to advertisers, or let outside companies use your identifiable information for their own marketing.
We do not use your personal health information for targeted advertising.
6. Consent
By creating an account and using PM Lab, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this document.
You choose what health information you share. Some features will not work if you do not provide certain information. For example, voice-based symptom tracking cannot work without recording and processing your voice.
You can withdraw consent by deleting your account or contacting us at support@perimenopauselab.com. If you withdraw consent, some or all features may stop working. Withdrawal does not undo processing that already happened while your consent was active.
7. When We Share Information
We do not sell your information.
We share information only when needed to operate PM Lab, protect users, meet legal obligations, or complete a business transaction as described below.
Service providers
We use service providers to help run PM Lab. They may process information only for the services they provide to us, and we require appropriate privacy and security protections.
Current service provider categories include:
- AI and voice processing providers, such as OpenAI and Google, for transcription, conversation analysis, symptom extraction, and health insight generation
- Database and hosting providers, such as Neon, to store account data, health records, transcripts, and related service data
- Email providers to send verification codes, reminders, account notices, and support messages
- Location lookup providers, such as ip-api.com, to estimate city-level location from IP address for analytics, security, or product improvement
When we send content to AI providers, we send the content needed to provide the feature. We do not intentionally send your account name or email address to AI providers unless it is needed for a specific feature. However, if you say or type identifying details in a recording or message, those details may be included in the content processed by the AI provider.
Legal or safety reasons
We may share information if required by law, court order, regulator, or government authority. We may also share information when we believe it is reasonably necessary to protect PM Lab, our users, or others from fraud, abuse, security threats, or harm.
Business transfers
If PM Lab is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. If this happens, we will take reasonable steps to protect your information and notify you if your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
8. AI-Generated Content
PM Lab uses artificial intelligence. AI-generated summaries and insights may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or not right for your situation.
Do not rely only on PM Lab for health decisions. Talk to a qualified healthcare professional before making medical, treatment, medication, or lifestyle decisions based on information from PM Lab.
PM Lab does not make medical decisions for you. PM Lab does not decide whether you receive healthcare, insurance, employment, credit, or any other important service.
9. Your Content
You own the content you provide to PM Lab, including your voice recordings, typed entries, and health notes.
You give PM Lab permission to process your content so we can provide, protect, maintain, and improve the service, including internal research and product improvement described in this document.
You are responsible for the information you choose to enter into PM Lab. Do not submit information about another person unless you have the right to do so.
10. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this document, unless a longer period is required or allowed by law.
In general:
- Account information is kept while your account is active
- Voice recordings, transcripts, symptom records, and summaries are kept until you delete them, delete your account, or ask us to delete them, unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security, or dispute reasons
- Technical logs are usually kept for up to 90 days, unless needed longer for security, troubleshooting, legal, or compliance reasons
- De-identified or aggregated information may be kept longer because it is no longer intended to identify you
When information is no longer needed, we delete it, de-identify it, or securely dispose of it.
11. Security
We use reasonable safeguards based on the sensitivity of the information we handle. These may include:
- Encryption in transit using HTTPS/TLS

No internet service is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, changed, or lost.
If there is a privacy breach that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected users and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada when required by law.

In some cases, we may not be able to fulfill a request fully. For example, we may need to keep certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, or accounting reasons. If that happens, we will explain why.
13. Canadian Privacy Rights

We may send you service-related emails, such as login codes, security notices, account notices, support messages, and important updates. These are part of providing PM Lab.
If we send marketing emails, we will follow applicable consent and unsubscribe rules. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails, but you may still receive service-related messages.

We may also update this document. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by email or in-app notice. Continued use of PM Lab after an update means you accept the updated document.
19. No Warranties
PM Lab is provided "as is" and "as available."
We do not guarantee that PM Lab will be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly accurate, or suitable for your specific health needs. We do not guarantee the accuracy of transcriptions, summaries, AI-generated content, insights, or symptom analyses.
